ATTENTION ALL FIRST-BORN CHILDREN

So we're clearly dealing with a case of the biblical plagues of Egypt here. Granted, it's obviously gotten changed up a bit - flies are fleas and ticks, and the monsters today were "wild animals" of the most extreme variation. However, we have no reason to believe that they'll change too much.

And, as I'm sure many of you know, the final plague (which, at this rate, will fall this next Wednesday) is the death of the firstborn, which the Israelites escaped by painting the blood of a lamb on their doors.

Working in conjunction with some conjurers who are getting lambs as best they can, and a great personal sacrifice of a friend has secured the auditorium of the Jewish Community Center on Melrose for Tuesday and Wednesday. That way, we have as many bases covered as possible. This haven will be for anyone who is the first-born or only child in their family, or who isn't sure of their status for one reason or another. There will be angels and demons in the same room. I think we can all agree that this is a good enough reason to put the treaty to a real test. Yes, I know that technically the JCC is in angel territory, but so help me, if I catch anyone trying to provoke any sort of attack, from any side, you will very likely not live to see Thursday.

Unfortunately, with the cars and such not working, everyone will have to walk to the JCC, during the plague of darkness. Because of this, I'm looking for archangels, behemoths, and anyone else trained in combat to act as escorts for the people who will want to take advantage of our haven. Small groups, don't have the mundanes outnumber the guards more than 2 to 1. We can get everything set up if I can get a semi-accurate count of who'll be available for escort duty, and who wants to be escorted, so please comment if you'd like to do either. We will find a way to transport you if you're not able to walk the distance, so any shapeshifters or behemoths who can be ridden, or who could theoretically pull a cart of some sort would be appreciated.

Also, I'm saying this up-front, I'm looking for skilled and reliable Glaysas to help keep the panic and antagonization to a minimum while we're all cooped up in there. The emotional influence will be kept to a minimum (or there will be blood), but El and I both think it necessary for this situation. If you are uncomfortable with minor emotional stabilization, you're free to risk death elsewhere, but from what I can see, we've probably got the most secure setup in the city.

I'm uncertain whether or not to open this haven to any mundanes you might know, but if you know a first-born mundane who either knows about us or will handle our existence well, you may bring them. Otherwise, we'll do what we can to share the lamb's blood, but there's only going to be so much to go around, so you might want to let them know they should be making plans.

This solution is not a guarantee of living through the tenth plague, but hopefully it'll increase our chances.

So, given that this is starting to look like a full-on case of the ten plagues of Egypt, I think it might be smart to start thinking about keeping all the first-borns and only children safe from that last plague. Which, if this schedule keeps up, will hit at midnight on November 4th.

For those of you who don't know, the last plague of Egypt was the death of the firstborn children of Egypt. God's chosen people were saved by painting lamb's blood on their doors and staying indoors. SO. My boss and I think it might be a good idea for us to find a place to gather the first-borns and the only children, and paint the doors with lamb's blood. I mean, we could all go out and get our own lamb's blood, but how much of that is REALLY going to be available in the city, especially when we're cut off from god knows how much of the state? So we conserve blood, get people in one place, and hope for the best.

Sound like a plan? Anyone know a place that would hold a lot of people?

When a gun is fired outside the confines of battle, of a fight, it's almost a comfort, when you're raised like a Barnam. It's when there's a single shot, maybe two, and then stillness that it eats at you. The echo ringing in your ears, your hands tingling with the slight numbness of the retort, the smell of it in the air, and stillness all around you, the sudden absence where a missing soul should be.

Taylor Barnam is holding a gun. Her wings are out, Milo's shaggy form is pressed against her legs, and the only sounds in the deafening silence are Milo's faint whines and her own ragged breath. I had to do it! she wants to scream. I had no choice - I did the right thing! But even if she could force the words out, Milo already knows. The only other person in the room is dead. She knows because his Other is gone.

She tries to breathe, tries to remember that he's been trying to kill her for nearly three years, tries to act like an adult, like a professional. It was him or her. He'd've killed her ward, and killed her to get him, if he'd had to. She was expendable. Useless. Traitor.

She's a Guardian Angel, she eliminated a long-standing threat to her ward's life and her own, she has nothing to be ashamed of, and no reason to be upset. No reason to be holding herself back from collapsing into sobs because she shouldn't be sobbing at all. There's no reason Milo should look so miserable. They did their job. She did the right thing. The silence rages on.

Okay, so I've been wanting to rename Tay's journal pretty much since I got a handle on her. SO! No longer is she babyxxangel. She is now archangelet.

Which, y'know, to you newbies might SEEM odd. After all, she's a guardian, right? But no. Well, yes, she is. But she was raised an Archangel, and part of her will always BE an Archangel. Plus there were too many good lyric journals that weren't taken that I couldn't choose. ^_^;;

I'm going to be updating her wiki page, and her entry on the cast list, and if you've got her journal listed anywhere, you can update that. It will, however, redirect, so all links will still be valid. Huzzah!
