None taken, sweetness. I've had a century to cope with that particular piece of agony. Hate to think you'll have to deal with it too though.

Anyway... I'm not going to promise you they won't be pissed, because, speaking from experience? They will be, but not at you. If they've got a brain in their heads, they'll know that the calling chooses you, you don't choose the calling. There'll be a lot of silence, a lot of cries of 'why God why?' even if there isn't a God to speak of, and it'll hurt like hell for a little while, but they'll get over it. They always do. My family's the living proof of this- I haven't been home in a hundred years and they're still trying to get me back to Sicily. I stayed away because it was my choice, not theirs.

So to answer your question, you just wait it out. Don't let the fact that the universe fucked you over when it should have just left you alone get you down. Just try to be the strongest, most badass guardian angel you can be. That's the only thing you can do.
