[One-Off RP] Going down the list of names [for Nate C.]

Tay Barnam is in New York, thinking about how Boston is such a better city, and wrinkling her nose at the masses of mundane and not-so-mundane people.

She really doesn't like cities where they're not able to keep the demon population properly controlled.

She has a name and an address written on a scrap of paper, and getting directions from the hot-dog stands and news stalls has led her to a rather nice part of the city. She manages to slip into the building without having to buzz up (she's fast and smart) and ends up standing in front of a door, reminding herself that she doesn't care about finding her mother except for finding out if she could've had any impact on her calling.

So she knocks.

"You probably have a better chance asking at her o-" Office. Office was the next word. But she doesn't get quite that far. Her previously uninterested expression shifts to an icy glare, and she lifts her chin a little. Her shoulders itch. "Aren't you a little tactless for someone who wants something from me?"

"No, I haven't," Nate says, with an identical sweet smile that says quite clearly she already wants to cause her pain. "I hope that wasn't supposed to be impressive. What do you want Alicia for?"

Give me a good reason before I shut this door in your face. She has limited patience now for people she likes. Tay Barnam is not rapidly making her way onto that list.

Nate stares at her for a moment, fighting against letting her wings out. This is crazy. Which is saying something, considering her life. "...No."

Nate's politeness only stretches so far, and she's got no reason for it with this girl. She steps back a little and lets the door swing shut.
