UM. This is a good question.
I don't think you could be an ass, for the record. I think you're handling it swimmingly! Most of all, don't make light of it or let the awkward win out.
I remember when Iris was crushing on me and man, that was weird. Just say you're honored? :) IDK she is tricky to figure out. It's hard to say what would help or what would make her want to punch a wall.
