[Locked to angels and demons only]

Do any of you ever think that maybe we're doing everything wrong?

Doin' what wrong?

[identity profile] thrillofthekill.livejournal.com 2009-08-11 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
You'd think that. I'd like to take what part of our evolutionary chain that made Callings happen out back and shoot it, but that ain't likely to fix anything.

Good for him! Wallace is a good kid. Deserves some light in his life... And now that you mentioned it, I think I saw 'em in the lobby yesterday. With this snip of a thing.. Brunette, glasses. Think she's a wanderer. Spittin' image of that one Fallen Angel we had in the Conrad for awhile.

On more than one occasion.

[identity profile] with-coffee.livejournal.com 2009-08-11 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
That's putting it lightly. I went away for awhile. Learned there are a lot of people trying to change it. No one's been exactly successful yet.

Did anything prompt this exactly?

[identity profile] with-coffee.livejournal.com 2009-08-11 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think most of us know until it's too late. Not until we're struck with something happening to us that we never thought possible. There should be manuals, but they could never cover all the bases or reach all of the necessary people.

[identity profile] with-coffee.livejournal.com 2009-08-11 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
Humans have it entirely too easy.

All the time. Things must be a lot simpler for people like Georgia and Romana. At least they felt like they knew what the hell was going on.

Yeah. Probably not. You'd think there would be some kind of middle ground somewhere.

Not dead yet. Which is obvious by the fact that I'm... writing in your journal. But it's something, right?

[identity profile] astrongerbeacon.livejournal.com 2009-08-11 01:34 pm (UTC)(link)
WHAT.

They do know there's a truce here, right? A truce that will cause UNHOLY VENGEANCE from both sides to be brought down should any homicidal angels (no offense) break it?

...do you need anything? Backup? Heavy artillery? Bomb shelter?

They are not bringing war to this city. Not again. Come to that, I will raise up an army myself and I'll kill them before the demons get a fucking chance.

If at any point you think they might be in town in the next few days... let me know. I'll even come stay there at the Gauche if you want, as long as your ward doesn't mind another archangel around the place.

[identity profile] crimeatthetime.livejournal.com 2009-08-11 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes.

All the time.

[identity profile] elashte.livejournal.com 2009-08-11 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Frequently.

Part of the provisions of the Treaty established a fund, in point of fact, to research the nature of Angelic and Demonic Callings to see if anything could be done in controlling them. It's an ideal I hold close to heart. Unfortunately most of the top researchers in the field are somewhat loathe to relocate to Chicago.

Still. Perhaps we'll yet see an improvement in our lifetimes.

All the damn time.

[identity profile] pressthatbutton.livejournal.com 2009-08-12 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
My my. I appear to the be only one in this city happy with my lot. :}

[identity profile] pressthatbutton.livejournal.com 2009-08-13 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
As if angels aren't just as smug and assholish as we can be sometimes.

[identity profile] pressthatbutton.livejournal.com 2009-08-13 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
Bingo, you took the words right out of my mouth. Though I guess it would be pen, to be precise, given the whole journal thing.

Gotta say, печенье, you're the first I've seen with your particular brand of moral quandary, despite Chicago's apparent tendency to bring on the quandaries, so I'm learning. Second-hand, with great glee and hilarity all around.

[identity profile] pressthatbutton.livejournal.com 2009-08-13 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
Ex-pol proprietor of the very fine fortress over in Cicero. Never actually met the guy, but I poked around the place once; expecting a siege anytime soon?

A guardian to a demon, though, fascinating. It's a wonder more people aren't breaking down the doors to study that, suppose the fortress is a wise idea after all. Funny how Chicago's just fucking up the Barnams right and left, innit?

[identity profile] pressthatbutton.livejournal.com 2009-08-13 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
Really.

Well, I'd hope you all learned from this little lesson and re-fortified the fuck out of wherever it was she got in, of course. Otherwise it'd be your own faults if there were to be, say, a repeat of history. I hear it has a tendency to do that.

[identity profile] pressthatbutton.livejournal.com 2009-08-14 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
Duly noted. Though I'll admit, I'll probably get myself situated in a nice bunker with a viewing camera of some sort (or hack into the CCTV) and watch the shit fly aboveground. I'll stockpile popcorn and everything. Much as I don't want to catch the wrong side of a Barnam's righteous anger, I'm none too keen on missing the drama, either, kiddo.

[identity profile] pressthatbutton.livejournal.com 2009-08-14 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
You say that as if I'd be stupid enough to make the bunker easily accessible. You wanna front row seat in our own home-made movie theater, you gimme a ring. Or a journal, whichever.

Mind you, I'm not promising I'd have the whole setup done before your cavalry rolls into town with their trumpets. Not that I'm actually expecting trumpets and all, though that'd be an added hilarious bonus. Hey, it's a hypothetical situation, there can be some trumpets if I want.

[identity profile] pressthatbutton.livejournal.com 2009-08-15 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
Oh honey, I know how crazy you Barnams can be, believe me. One doesn't have to have direct contact with them -- which I assume I haven't, anyway, unless you have some particularly humble cousins -- to hear the tales.

I'm getting that impression, kiddo. No offense to your ward or anything, but I'm more the bloodthirsty type than he, it seems. Besides, psychics seriously harsh my cool.

[identity profile] homoraptor.livejournal.com 2009-08-13 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
dont think. :) gets u in truble.
